A Must Have – How to Live With Kids: A Room by Room Guide
If you don’t know Gabrielle Stanley Blair, you absolutely need to.
She’s one of those people who turns everything she touches into a whimsical Wes Anderson movie set.
I’m in love with her because she’s kind, generous and is the type of person I aspire to be someday.
She’s the mother of six wildly intelligent, creative children who she integrates not just into the fabric of her life, but into the fabric of the work she does.
It’s almost as fun watching them grow into budding artists with their own film series Olive Us, as it is peering into the gorgeous environs Gabrielle weaves around them.
Gabrielle’s first book, Design Mom – How to Live with Kids: A Room-by-Room Guide, epitomizes her familial paradigm and design sensibility beautifully.
I should mention here that this is NOT a sponsored post.
I’ve simply admired Gabrielle’s work on her inviting, inspiring site about the intersection of design and motherhood for the last five years.
Here are just a few of the photos of and from Gabrielle’s book.

Over the years, Gabrielle has worked as a designer and blogger.
But she’s also done forensic research, reporting and photo-journalism on the many innovative ways people make their homes beautiful ALONG WITH raising children.
Here are a few examples of the homes that Gabrielle has featured in her Living With Kids series, some of which are showcased in her book.
